Sunflowers are an easy crop to grow. They are particularly beneficial for women in Zimbabwe living with HIV and AIDS, who work together in groups to grow sunflowers and press them for oil. The women then use the oil they produce to cook with at home and to sell, giving them an income which allows them to pay for their children’s school fees, books and other supplies. This gift provides the recipient with all the equipment and seeds needed to grow and harvest these valuable plants.
