How do the gifts change a future?
Every single present has been chosen by people we work with in the developing world to help them overcome poverty. By buying a gift of a ‘Supergranny’, for instance, you’ll be helping amazing grannies to raise grandkids who have lost their parents to AIDS. Your gift enables them to send their grandchildren to school, access essential medicines and state support. A brighter future for all the family!

What do I receive when I buy a gift?
You or your recipient will receive a lovely gift card with a fridge magnet that represents your gift. You can choose for the gift to be sent back to you to pass on yourself or we can send the card and magnet directly to your friend or family member. Either way, you can add a personal message to the gift card if you wish.
We also hope you’ll get a warm fuzzy happy feeling!

Will my money really fund the gift I buy?
Every single present has been chosen by people we work with in the developing world to help them overcome poverty. When you buy a cow, your gift also provides support like training for a family to look after a cow. Sometimes we sell more of a particular gift than is required. If this is the case for your choice, your money will go to a similar present - e.g. if cows were to oversell, your money could go towards chicks instead. This flexibility means that communities we work with can get exactly what they need when they need it.
Where we can, we source the presents locally to spread the benefits even further through supporting the local community.

How do I add a message to the gift card?
Online gift cards can be left blank or we can print your message onto the card and send it to you or directly to your recipient on your behalf. You’ll be offered the option to add a message during the payment process. For phone orders, we can also take your message and send the card directly to the gift recipient for you. With postal orders and in-store, you will receive a card for each gift you have purchased. You can then write a message on the card before giving it to your friend or relative.

Where can I get a catalogue?
You just need to complete your contact details in the ‘request a catalogue’ section on the website and a catalogue will be sent out to you in the post. Otherwise, you can pick up a catalogue in your local Oxfam shop or call us to ask us to send one out to you.

How much is spent on producing each Unwrapped catalogue?
Each catalogue costs 5 pence / 6 cent to print. This cost appears on the back page of the catalogue. We strive at all times to keep our costs as low as possible.

Can I find out more information about the places and people my gifts are going to?
Unfortunately, we are unable to tell you exactly where the particular gift that you have bought will have gone, as this would be too costly, and mean that less money would be available to use where it is needed most. However, our newsletter Oxfam Reports and our e-updates (sign up here) will feature stories on Unwrapped gifts in action throughout the year. You can sign up to receive this information on the homepage. You can also check out our Gifts in Action page (coming shortly) on this website for some great stories on how Unwrapped gifts are changing lives.

How do I know if my online order has gone through ?
A printable email will be sent to you once your order has gone through, confirming your order and thanking you for changing the present and changing a future.

Can I get more than one card and magnet per gift I buy?
Unfortunately not. If we allowed people to do this it would have an impact on cost and could also start to devalue the gifts. If however, you are a group or school and have done some fundraising, we can send you out a certificate too, which can be displayed in a prominent place as a reminder of what you have helped to achieve.
